General PHIAC Circulars
NEW GAP COVER REPORTING REQUIREMENTSFunds will be required to submit quarterly Medical Gap reports (PHIAC 4) from the December quarter 2005. It is also required that a separate catch-up return be submitted for the September 2005 quarter no later than 28 January 2006, and earlier if possible. The template for the return is attached to this circular on PHIAC’s web site www.phiac.gov.au. Circular PHI 65/05 of 31 October 2005 from the Department of Health and Ageing advised that funds will no longer be required to provide specialty data in their gap cover annual reports. The data will now be required to be provided quarterly to PHIAC. The due date for submission of the data is the same as for the PHIAC 1 returns, 28 days after the end of the quarter to which the data relates. PHIAC is collecting this quarterly medical gap information to facilitate consistent reporting and analysis of medical gap data. The totals reported on this new quarterly PHIAC 4 medical gap report should be consistent with data reported in the quarterly PHIAC 1 return. Aggregate state reports generated from this medical gap data may be made available after further consultation with the industry. |
