MAPPING FOR PHIAC1 DATA AND UPDATED PHIAC1 VALIDATION

Users of data produced from the PHIAC1 quarterly collection would be aware that data in the PHIAC1 form is defined by field numbers. To accommodate changes in the Private Health Insurance legislation that commenced on 1 April 2007, a new PHIAC1 has been introduced for and from the June quarter 2007. The PHIAC1 has been completely revised with new field numbers.

PHIAC has published on its web site, attached to this circular, an Excel file (mapping.xls) that shows the mapping from the field numbers used prior to 1 April 2007 to the field numbers to be used from 1 April 2007.

Validation checks to be used by insurers as a guide to the integrity of the PHIAC1 data reporting have previously been provided by email to insurers. An updated validation file (phiac1validation01-07.xls) has also been published as an attachment to this circular. Insurers are reminded that the validation file contains links to the file phiac1.xls.
