MATTERS ARISING FROM THE REINSURANCE AUDIT CONDUCTED BY COOPERS & LYBRAND

In a letter dated 14 August 1991 the Commissioner provided Public Officers with copies of a report (Appendices 1 to 3) by Coopers & Lybrand on problems and deficiencies which had come to light during the course of their audit of organisations' reinsurance account transactions and advised that Council was examining the issues raised

Attached is a paper which lists the matters highlighted by Coopers & Lybrand and recommendations which Council has agreed to in order to ensure a more consistent approach by all organisations to matters affecting reinsurance. Public Officers should ensure that immediate action is taken to implement the recommendations where appropriate.
