GAP PAYMENTS SCHEME - REQUIREMENT FOR ORGANISATIONS TO COLLECT INVOICE DATA FOR MEDICAL BENEFITS FROM 1 OCTOBER 2000

PHIAC will require Registered Health Benefits Organisations to collect invoice data in relation to medical benefits beginning from 1 October 2000. This data will be combined with other data already collected to provide information on out of pocket costs to members of Health Benefits Organisations. The first collection of the data will be for the quarter ending 31 December.

A sample proforma of the data to be collected is attached. More details will be disseminated when the proforma and definitions are finalised.

If any Organisations currently collect invoicing data it would be appreciated if you could let PHIAC know by contacting Paul Collins by e-mail paul.collins@phiac.gov.au or telephone (02) 6285 3133.
