CAPITAL ADEQUACY STANDARD – MARKET YIELD RATE

PHIAC has determined that the market yield applicable to the calculation of the Renewal Option Reserve to be applied by all Registered Health Benefits Organisations for the quarter ended 30 September 2003 is 4.820%.

The investment earnings rate as prescribed by Division 2.8 of the Health Benefits Organisations – Interpretation Standard 2003 is 3.820%.

Organisations are reminded that amended prudential standards came into force from 1 July 2003, and that a new PHIAC 2 reporting template has been distributed to reflect these changes. The new template must be used for all reporting after this date, until further notice.
