CLAIMS FLUCTUATION IN SEPTEMBER 2006 QUARTER EXPECTED TO AFFECT REINSURANCE

PHIAC has been advised by a large organisation, typically a recipient from the Reinsurance pool, that they will be reporting markedly lower claims in the September 2006 quarter. This is expected to have an impact on the Reinsurance results for the September quarter. Organisations should expect a reversal in the impact on Reinsurance in the December quarter 2006, when the back-log of claims for the fund is likely to be processed

Protecting consumers of private health insurance by ensuring an industry which is competitive, efficient and financially sound.
