REPORTING REQUIREMENTS FOR MARCH QUARTER 2007 AND NEW REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

This Circular is to advise funds of the reporting requirements for the March quarter 2007 and the new reporting requirements for following quarters.

For the March quarter 2007, PHIAC advises funds that they must provide to the Council all the usual reporting: PHIAC 1, PHIAC 2, PHIAC 3 and PHIAC 4 using the same format and spreadsheets as required by the legislation prior to 1 April 2007. They must be received by PHIAC by 28 April 2007.

For reporting after the March quarter 2007, funds are to use the following templates:
• PHIAC 1 Template (ver 2007.04),
• PHIAC 3 Template (ver 2007.04) and
• PHIAC 4 Template (ver 2007.04).
A revised PHIAC 2 template will be provided at a later date.
For your information a PHIAC 1 template is provided showing the new field numbers. The PHIAC 3 and PHIAC 4 templates are also provided for your information. There is no change to the data required in both these templates. There has been a minor change in the titles in PHIAC 4.

Returns must be provided quarterly to PHIAC. The due date for submission of the data is 28 days after the end of the quarter to which the data relates.

PHIAC 1, PHIAC 3 and PHIAC 4 returns are required for each state. Each state is to be reported on a separate sheet on the excel templates provided.

The amounts reported on the quarterly PHIAC 3 Prostheses Report and PHIAC 4 medical gap report should be consistent with data reported in the quarterly PHIAC 1 return.

PHIAC will introduce new reporting and in addition to the aggregate state reports for PHIAC 1 it will provide aggregate state reports for PHIAC 3 and PHIAC 4.

Protecting consumers of private health insurance by ensuring an industry which is competitive, efficient and financially sound.
