The Private Health Insurance (Risk Equalisation Administration) Rules 2007 describe the records to be kept by insurers and also include a template on which the information is to be provided to PHIAC. PHIAC is amending the Private Health Insurance (Risk Equalisation Administration) Rules to refer to nursing-home type patients as:

2. Private Health Insurance (Health Benefits Fund Administration) Amendment Rules 2007 (No. 1)

The Private Health Insurance (Health Benefits Fund Administration) Rules 2007 establishes the process by which the transfer of a health benefits fund can be effected for the purposes of the Private Health Insurance Act 2007.

The purpose of this amendment is to ensure that the Private Health Insurance (Health Benefits Fund Administration) Rules are simplified where a private health insurer transfers ALL assets and liabilities from an incorporated association to a corporation under the Corporations Act 2001 as part of the registration process under Division 126-10(1) of the Private Health Insurance Act 2007, before 1 July 2008.

Contact Officer: Paul Groenewegen (02) 6215 7966 paul.groenewegen@phiac.gov.au

The Amendment Rules are available on the PHIAC website.
