NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER FOR PHIAC

On Friday, 23 May, the Minister for Health and Ageing announced that Mr Shaun Gath had been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Private Health Insurance Administration Council by the Australian Government.

Mr Gath brings considerable knowledge and expertise to the role. He has previously worked with the Health Insurance Commission (now Medicare Australia) and Medibank Private as its General Counsel. For the last seven years, Mr Gath has been a partner of the national law firm Blake Dawson based in Canberra where he has acted for a wide range of public and health sector clients.

The PHIAC Board and Secretariat look forward to working with Mr Gath.
