2009–10 End of Year Reporting Requirements
Acting Commissioner
Mr James Thomas Dominguez CBE AM was appointed as Commissioner of the Private Health Insurance Administration Council on 21 July 2007. Mr Dominguez’s appointment expired on 21 July 2010.
It is accepted practice under caretaker conventions that no significant appointments are made during the caretaker period which commenced on 19 July.
Under section 270-15 of the Private Health Insurance Act 2007 (the Act), there is provision for the Deputy Commissioner to act as Commissioner. As such, Mr Peter Annand is now the acting Commissioner with all powers and functions of the Commissioner under the Act.
