CHANGES TO THE REGISTRATION / RENEWAL PROCESS OF SIMPLIFIED BILLING AGENTS
 

Due to amendments in the Health Insurance Act 1973, Health Legislation Amendment (Private Health Industry Measures) Act 2002 the function of registration for Simplified Billing Agents has been transferred from the Private Health Insurance Administration Council (PHIAC) to Medicare Australia.
 

From Monday 7 April 2003 all functions associated with the registration of Billing Agents, including Annual Reporting requirements, renewal of registration, and new applications were handed to the Medicare Australia.
