Disclosure Standard video

This educational video is based on the requirements of the new Disclosure Standard for private health insurers, which will come into effect on 1 January 2011. These requirements are contained in The Private Health Insurance (Insurer Obligation) Amendment Rules 2010 (No. 1), which amend the Private Health Insurance (Insurer Obligation) Rules 2009.

Whilst the emphasis of this standard is on more comprehensive communication with Council, its application will increase the protection provided to consumers and beneficiaries of private health insurance policies, through more timely prudential supervision of private health insurance.
