Appointment of PHIAC Commissioner
PHIAC welcomes the appointment of Mr James Dominguez CBE AM as the new Commissioner for the Private Health Insurance Administration Council announced by the Minister for Health and Ageing, the Hon Tony Abbott MP. Mr Dominguez commenced his appointment on 21 July 2007 replacing Mr Garry Richardson who completed his term as Commissioner on that date.
Mr Dominguez has considerable experience as a company director and Chairperson and will bring that wealth of experience to PHIAC Council. He has more than 25 years experience in the Australian financial markets – including Dominguez & Barry/ Dominguez Barry Samuel Montagu/SBC Dominguez Barry – now UBS. He is also the director of a number of other companies including Arrow Voice and Data , ETrade Australia, O’Connell Street Associates, Pacific Knowledge Systems and Wesbeam.
PHIAC also wishes to thank Mr Richardson for his significant contribution to the Council and the private health insurance industry over the nine years of his service.
