Appointment of PHIAC Commissioner
PHIAC welcomes the appointment of Ms Lynn Ralph as the new Commissioner and Mr Terry Downing and Mr John Barrington as board members of the Private Health Insurance Administration Council. The appointments were announced today by the Minister for Health and Ageing, the Hon. Nicola Roxon.
Ms Ralph, Mr Downing and Mr Barrington commence their appointments on 29 November 2010. Each is appointed for a period of three years.
The new members bring a broad range of experience in corporate management and regulatory oversight which will be a very valuable addition to the skills available to the PHIAC board.
The appointees replace recently retired members of the PHIAC board Mr James Dominguez, who served as Commissioner for three years, Mr Peter Annand who served as Deputy Commissioner for seven years and Ms Sue Carter who served as a board member for seven years.
PHIAC takes this opportunity to sincerely thank Mr Dominguez, Mr Annand and Ms Carter for their outstanding service on the PHIAC Board.
