Table 37. Management expenses - Revised to correct total management expenses per average policy and per average insured persons

The management expense as a percentage of contribution income for Australian Unity was reported as 9.7% in PHIAC's Annual Report 2005–06.

For comparative purposes, the management expense for Australian Unity should have been 9.64% for 2005–06. The recalculation takes into account overseas visitors health cover which was previously treated by Australian Unity as other income under non-PHI activities conducted within the fund.

In addition to Australian Unity, the following funds also provide overseas visitors health cover: Medibank, MBF, AHM, BUPA Aus, HBF, HCF, HIF, and MU.
